Beanstack

Beanstack is a web based application that enables patrons to log their books and minutes read during the Summer Reading Program or in one of our other reading events.

Chess Club

Chess Club takes place at the library every Monday from 4:30 - 6:00 PM and is open to all ages. We have several chess boards for use, but attendees can bring their own board as well. Find a spot in the library to sit down and play!

Club Code

The Hillsboro City Library's Youth Services Department offers regular robotics and coding programs for area youth. This one hour program, led by library staff, gives kids and teens hands on coding experince. To find the date and time of the next Club Code meeting, check the library's events calendar.

ParentTV

ParentTV offers thousands of on-demand parenting videos and courses with content designed to support those who care for children, from pregnancy through to teenage years.

ParentTV works with leading psychologists, pediatricians, mental health specialists, nutritionists, occupational therapists and parenting educators across the globe.

Search and find videos on general parenting, play, behavior, child development, mental health, sleep, nutrition, technology and more. Most videos are under 10 minutes in length and can be accessed on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Art Cart

Head down to the Philotechno's Children's Library anytime during regular business hours to find our Art Cart.

The Art Cart has coloring pictures, crayons, markers, construction paper, craft kits, glue, tape, and more all ready to be used for you and your child's creative needs.

Art is an excellent method for young children to hone their fine motor skills and expand their imaginations through the creative process.

The Boundless app is available for iOS, Android, and Amazon Fire devices.

Boundlessis provided to patrons of the Hillsboro City Library through the Texas State Library & Archives Commission.

Part of the E-Read Texas collection, these e-books are curated specifically for grades PK-5 and include materials from Time for Kids, books on crafting, and a number of high-lo readers. Accessible anywhere in Texas; no login required.

StoryWalk®

The Friends of the Hillsboro City Library, in partnership with the Hillsboro City Library and the City of Hillsboro Parks Department, have installed a permanent StoryWalk® in Hillsboro City Park on North Pleasant Street.

A StoryWalk is a sequence of picture book pages that are displayed in 21 weatherproof cases along a path. Park visitors read the displayed story as they walk along the roughly quarter mile route. Readers will also find movement activities and engagement questions to participate in as they read the story.
