Interlibrary Loans
If you are unable to find an item you are looking for in our catalog you may request the item through Interlibrary Loan. Requests for Interlibrary Loan may be made in person at the circulation desk. Patrons requesting items through Interlibrary Loan MUST adhere to the Hillsboro City Library's Interlibrary Loan Policy.
There is no fee for requesting interlibrary loans.
However, patrons are responsible for late fees, and damaged or lost materials.
The Interlibrary Loan Process:

Make your request at the circulation desk

Our interlibrary loan system searches for the requested material

If the material is available, we make a request to other libraries for the material

The request is granted or denied by the lending library

The lending library mails the item to us
-
We check the item out to you
-
Borrowing periods are set by the lending library

You return the borrowed item to the Hillsboro City Library

We mail the item back to the lending library

What is unavailable through interlibrary loan?

Downloadable items, such as eBooks and downloadable audiobooks.

New Releases (Books less than six months old.)

Children's Media Materials

Non-circulating Genealogy Materials
