In celebration of National Library Week, local author Cheryl Taylor-West will be at the Hillsboro City Library Saturday morning, April 12, from 10 am to 12 noon for a “Meet and Greet” and to autograph copies of her recent book, Long Night’s Journey into Day. In this book, Taylor-West provides an honest, soul-searching, personal tale that touches the heart at the very core. If you have experienced anxiety based on your status in family relationships, this book may be for you. Betrayal, mental illness, addiction, adult estrangement, divorce, financial insecurity, aging, and loneliness are all exposed in this tell-all portrayal of life at its harshest moments. But so are accomplishments demonstrated in other ways, such as music and art, career successes, friendships, love of animals, and spiritual enlightenment--emotional strengths when all else seems to fail. Spend a little time traveling on this journey towards freedom and acceptance as Taylor West peels back the inside layers for others to see. Laugh, cry, get angry, but above all else, know that life goes on.
The public is invited to come meet Ms. Taylor-West to discuss her book and purchase autographed copies. The library is located at 118 South Waco Street, one block south of the Hill County Courthouse. For more information, call the library at 254-582-7385.
